Pigs & Other Animals Pottery from Wemyss Ware® Pottery Studio.

In Bohemia, Karel Nekola’s birthplace, the pig is a symbol of good luck and model pigs are exchanged at New Year.
Griselda Hill’s first acquaintance with a Wemyss® black and white pig was as a child in her grandmother’s drawing room in Dorset.  At once charming and amusing, it sat with a patient, slightly worried, expression on the hearth.
We can make any size of pig into a ‘piggy bank’ on request. The sleeping piglets are often used as paperweights.

Please note that the majority of designs you see throughout our website can also be produced on our pig pieces.

Compassion in World Farming Limited Edition Small Pig. 15cm long
This limited edition Wemyss Ware pig, beautifully decorated with forget-me-nots, has been developed by  Griselda Hill Pottery Ltd. for the charity Compassion in World Farming.  CIWF highlights pig farming worldwide in an effort to improve standards, and £10 from the sale of each of these pigs will go towards their campaign.   Only 100 pigs will be made in this design, and each comes with a signed certificate of authentication.
